Corintea soc. coop. is an Italian cooperative company, operating since 1984 in the consulting sector. Focusing at the beginning on agronomical issues, over the years the company developed comprehensive experience and knowledge in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable development.

Corintea is registered in the list of Engineering Companies set up by the Public Works Supervisory Authority. The headquarter is in Torino, the company has offices in Cagliari, Bologna, and Pistoia.

Throughout the years, Corintea has successfully undertaken assignments for a wide range of public and private organizations, such as national and local authorities, Universities, professional organizations, and major companies. Clients are often supported through all phases of the project life cycle, from the identification of suitable local or European funding opportunities, through the design, implementation and reporting phases.

In all its activities, Corintea adopts a multidisciplinary approach, thanks to its staff formed by 35 specialists and technicians with different professional backgrounds: agronomists and agricultural technicians, foresters, engineers, economists, biological scientists, architects, and surveyors.

Corintea’s expertise covers a broad range of activities, focusing on the following business areas:

  • On-the-spot controls, surveys, and statistics in the agricultural fields: operating since 1990 in most Italian Regions, Corintea has developed deep expertise in the verification of compliance with the European and national agricultural regulations, with a special focus on the Common Agricultural Policy payments in the framework of CAP IACS (Integrated Administration and Control System). Typical activities also include carrying out agronomic and environmental surveys, using photointerpretation and remote sensing techniques, as well as management and updating of cartographic databases.
  • Waste management planning: the core business of this division is to design and monitor the performances of separate waste collection systems, with special focus on door-to-door waste collection schemes. Other activities in the field include drafting of local regulations; analysis of economic, financial and legal constraints and impacts connected with the introduction of taxes, fees, and subsidies; awareness raising and communication campaigns.
  • Sustainable development: typical activities include Strategic Environmental Assessments; design of Green Public Procurement (GPP) schemes; technical support to public and private organizations in the implementation of Environmental Management Systems Schemes; technical assistance concerning local consultation and negotiated planning processes.
  • Local development: the core activity is the design of development programs and plans, with a strong focus on the involvement of local stakeholders. Other activities in the field include forestry planning; studies and surveys on rural and mountain tourism; design of tourism routes; promotion of local food; creation of networks of local businesses.
